While the tenacious rolling thunder and the downpour of rain raged outside, Martha created a beautiful floral arrangement on her kitchen counter for her mother’s upcoming birthday. Dinner reservations at an upscale dining eatery were set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, the following evening.
